Remember that Refund Check last August?

you are'nt going to believe this..

Remember last August how Bush gave everyone a "mr. nice guy president" refund check for 300.00? Did it say anywhere on it that it was an advance for anything? NO and I know this cause I opened the letter and read it.

Well well well............ so today the hubby comes home, grabs the mail, opens it up and finds a letter from the IRS. He's upstairs with it now, but what it says is basically

Our records show that you recieved and an advance payment on your child tax deduction and so your tax amount entered was wrong and you owe us 378.00.

THAT WAS NOT AN ADVANCE... YET.. he calls the number to dispute and that's how they are recording Mr. Bush's nice guy refund check. If you got one and cashed or deposited it... be watching your mail for the letter saying they want it back with interest!

hmmmmmm .... i didn't check my mail last night... but how would that be if you were to claim that as well on your taxes?? was this for the child tax credit thingy-ma-bobber?? Cuz i remember i got that check too and i claimed it on my taxes..when i filed this past year???

So when ole Bush sent out those Mr. Nice Guy refund checks, the IRS wants it back?!?!?!

Oh well, i didnt get one anyway, so I dont have anything to worry about.

When i filed my taxes in january i had to claim that as well.. got 300 dollars less back.. so no it wasnt free.. but nice to get in the middle of the year..

It was like a loan. When everyone filed their taxes this year it was supposed to come out of your refund check. My mom does taxes.

Yeah i would think the only way you wouldn't get it back is if you didn't file it in along with your taxes???

Yeah that happen to us too...we now owe taxes for the first time ever. That was just a load of crap..(tax break my foot)

yeah someone told me that one of the networks broadcasted that for some folks that would be considered an advance on such and such... well I never saw that or heard it.. and the news here simply said it was a tax refund..nothing about advance.. same with the letter attached. Would have loved to have known that when the check came LOL!!! But I know it was'nt just me not paying attention. I read that letter and watch the news.. it was not mentioned at least on the news station I watch.

holay shytballs!!!! that sucks...hmmmmm now i'm curious if i'll be getting one in the mail soon..if so..thats gonna suck...have any of you checked out the IRS website????

I remember tho when we were able to file..that if we were not sure on the amount we received for that "tax break" last august, that we could go there and input our social security number and find out the amount. I also know i have kept that letter or whatever that was sent to me last year with that check..now i just have to hunt it down in my files here at home....

If you claimed it on your taxes then I doubt you'll see a letter like I got.
I really hate this tax crap.. I can remember the good old days when I made only half of the minimum poverty level numbers LOL!! Jus joking about them being the good old days...

No.. we did'nt think we had to.. we were under the impression it was an extra refund from our 2002 taxes.. like bush was making it out to be. He did that the first year in office if you might remember...

soooo i dont even remember how long ago that was...but...its not too many years ago..my oldest one is turning 5 on monday LOL :p
