Article in Powwows '07

So the school I teach at subscribes to Indian Country Today, and they put out this special Powwow annual. Most of the info you can get off of this board here, but they were talking about judging the Prairie Chicken Dance and the old style of dancing this issue, and had a picture of Guy Fox there. Every time they talk about that dance, someone puts up a picture of Mr. Fox - I think in the future, when they talk about this dance they are going to be talking about him eh - it already seems to be that way.

Anyhow, it was an interesting enough read. give it a read if you can get ahold of a copy. They have 'em at the ICT website as well.

He's my bro, he was a good grass dancer, then started chicken dancin' 'bout 11 or 12 years ago.

Him and his dad worked hard on researching outfits, dance styles and what not.

Geez that Guy, very photogenic I guess!

Right on - I have a grass dance outfit that has the otter collar/breastplate and whanot - no tights though, not for grass dancing anyhow. I like his look a lot - a lot of those other guys just look like Crows - his look says something else. I think that's why people seem to like photographing it so much.

There's a Dine'/Ojibwe guy that gets his picture taken a lot too - he's on a lot of those calendars. His dad is a Chief Eagle or something like that. some sort of eagle and he has relatives in Red Lake, MN. I wonder if he's going to be in archives someday too.

Has anyone else read the article?

Ntown,

I have been wondering what this article says.

Where I live, they don't have the powwow edition of ICT.

I guess I will have to get my copy this weekend at Denver March to see what you are talking about?
