I would have to say it is going to be that lucky woman who gets that set Christy did, which is currently for sale at Sharp's Indian Store.

www.sharpsindianstore.com I just about fell off my chair when I first saw that set If ever in the event I run into a large sum of money, I know who I would like to ask to bead me a set

too many to name!

there are so many beautiful sets of beadwork out there!

Ruby McArthur's pink beadwork
Mary-Lou Olsen's red and yellow beadwork
Jodi Gilette's pink beadwork
Tisa Pinkham's gunmetal beadwork (I think that's the color)

the southern ladies:
Toni Tsatoke
Tookie Brady
Tonya Moore

There's a whole bunch more, just can't think of 'em all right now!

I think all the women's beadwork in both the Northern and Southern categories are beautiful. Can't pick just one or two or three or.... Just so long as they're not extremely large like a few I've seen lately. Dang, might as well go Northern on some of them. They look ridiculous. Oversized dress medallions, oversized shoulder beadwork, oversized necklaces, oversized braid ties, oversized crown headbands, oversized earrings, oversized skirt medallions. Might as well bead the whole bottom skirt. You know, there is such a thing as too many rhinestones that it overshadows the design on the beadwork. All you see is glitter. Guess the trend is the more gaudy, the better.

Well I Think Bead Work Is More Valuable If You Know The Person Wearing It Made It Herself And Had The Calis On The Fingers To Prove It, It Just Means More

I agree with you wildbear. I also tend to think more of the person if I know she made her own regalia, or her family made it. I lean more towards the dresses that don't have to much glitter.

Toni Tsatoke Has the best looking southern beadwork ever...It has her family design in it and all of the Hearts and feathers represent the EAGLEHEART family that she comes from and the design on her sides is the family design

Yeah, Toni does have some nice beadwork! She and I are kinfolk and my late grandpa use to have peyote meetings with Dutch Eagleheart.

Lightbulb bead work should represent your tribe not some one elses

I Was On The Trail All Summer And I Saw So Much Bead Work But The Thing Is Alot Of It Was Not Affiliated With The Tribe Some Of The People Were From And Thats Sad Maybe They Are Ashamed Of Their Original Idenity. Long Time A Go You Could Just Look At The Dancers Bead Work And Know What Tribe They Are, now Who Knows. Thats One Of The Major Reasons
Some My Elders Will Not Go To Dances With Me They Don't Appreciate Others Wearing Some Designs That Don't Belong To Them.

All I have to say to that..is if you're on the powwow trail be expecting to see that kind of work if you contest then that's the way you dress...if it's a contest powwow you dress contest style...traditional ceremony you dance traditional there are still many contesters that not only represent their Tribez in the modern world but they still hold on to their traditional ways and dresses
