Nifty bead storage organizer
Most of you folks are WAY ahead of me on the bead learning curve, but I thought would post something nifty I had found for bead storage. I was trying to organize my growing collection of pretty beads, and was going thru the outdoor section at Walmart. They had lots of tackle organizers in the fishing gear, but most of them had clear plastic boxes that slid into nyon bags VERTICALLY. I wanted something that kept the boxes HORIZONTAL---it just seemed prudent keeping boxes holding thousands ot tiny beads flat. I found something called "Bait Box" (no kiddin'---it has a little yellow label with those words and a blue fish and hook). They called it their "Large Multi Tackle Organizer." It's good sized, about 9.6 inches long, 14.4 inches long and 9.6 inches high. It has a plastic clamping frame rack with a handle, that holds four flatish clear plastic snapshut boxes. The boxes have handy adjustable dividers. The whole frame thing holds the boxes horizontal, and you can carry them by the handle to your workspace, or hang it on the wall. I have two---one for the seed beads, and one for the bigger, necklace/trim project beads. Next trip to Wally World, go check them out, if you need some storage solutions!

A funny thing happened with me,beads and tackle box storage. We were going camping/fishing one weekend. I had a tackle box full of beads-looked just like the main tackle box that hubby keeps his favorite fishin' stuff in. I hadn't planned on taking my beadwork with me, but he picked up my beadbox instead of the takcle box and put it in the car. My beads were near the pile of stuff I was putting together and he was loading up ad I guess he thought I put the box there so we wouldn't forget it. we were alomst on the interstate, when I asked him if he got the tackle box (something was nagging at me) and he said yeah, it's in the back seat. I made him stop and checked the box in back. It was beads. Luckily, we were only a mile from the house and were able to return the beads and get the tackle. It would not have been a fun trip if we hadn't. I have given him odd, leftover beads to make lures with, but we couldnt have fished with Nymo and seed beads, at least I don't think so. Anybody ever tried it? so the morale of the story is-if you have 2 tackle boxes in the house, make sure yu get the right one on your way out the door.LOL!

Awwww, phooey. Nope, not that one. :o((( Great idea, looking at the site...but they don't have the one I have on thre, and mine was cheaper, about $17.00. Come to think of it, they must not have near as many boxes on their site as they do in their store, 'cause there are a TON of them at the store. Guess you'll have to go to Walmart....

Our Fishing gear is in a green nylon tote thing----so it's different, thankfully! But I would think that steamed Hubby would be the the result of such a mix up here. He takes his fishing very seriously, LOL!

Has anyone used the bead storage boxes that crazy crow has? If so how do they rank on the "bead storage box list"? I like the sound of the box/bag you are talking about...just wondering bout the crazy crow one...
Thanks, OA_Dancer05

Just wanted to pass this on-while you're at Wal-Mart, check out the fabric secion for the beaded trim. I got some neat beads there(by accident).N ot only have they added more beads in the craft section, but they've added a lot of beaded trim too. I got 2yds. of bi-cone beads, bugles and seeds. It was only 75cents. Of course, I did have to take them off the ribbon they were on, but the price was so good, I couldn't walk away from them. They were all a gold color. What's funny is I made a choker and sold it a few days ago and made a nifty profit off that 75 cents. LOL

I will have to figure out how to post the picture---I'm kinda new to the forum and it took me several hours to figure out how to get my picture and such on the left hand side of the page!!! (No one ever said I was computer savy.....)The pic below is not the organizer I was writing about, but it does look handy.....
