Edge beading -- wrapped

Wrapped edging:

In wrapped edging you basically do lane stitch over the edge. Instead of sewing between two lines, you wrap the beads over the edge a put the needle all the way through the leather.

Edge beading -- one kind of lace

Two types of lace edge beading:

Thread a needle, knot the thread, and pass it through the backing from back to front. String three beads. One bead's width away, again sew through from back to front. Snug the beads down against the edge. Then run the needle back through the last bead. String two beads and repeat.

To finish, put the needle through the first bead you stitched down. Stitch through to the back and knot the thread.

By varying the number of beads used, you can make a scalloped lace.
