Hey everyone, while searching online I found that my old website had been referenced in a number of threads here. It's been down for two years, but I've just put it back online.
http://easybeadpatterns.com I've got some beading software that I'm in the process of writing that you can download for free, no strings attached. All I ask is that you provide feedback if you like it. The program now works under Windows or Mac OS X Enjoy! - Michael Last edited by hemphim; 10-01-2006 at 02:18 AM. Reason: Update Title |

Is this the same one that you used to not have to download something that you could just upload your pic and get a chart on the site? Because I notice with this one you have to download.

Will this program run on Mac OS X?
Most of the beading programs I've seem will not work with my computer. Thanks, OA_Dancer05

1. It became very troublesome to monitor what people were posting. There were individuals that were posting inappropriate material. 2. Also, the cost of hosting the site also began to grow beyond what I could afford due to the number of images being uploaded and downloaded on a daily basis. Although you have to download something to run this program, it's still free. It offers many more features than the previous online version offered. Hopefully you'll give it a try. Mike |

I posted another update tonight!
http://easybeadpatterns.com/downloads.php The main update is that you now have the ability to create Brick stitch patterns. I fixed a few bugs as well. Thanks to a willing volunteer, I will be making this program fully compatible with Mac OS X in addition to Windows. We successfully started the program on a Mac today with promising results! Look for basic Mac support in the next release. -Michael |

I just posted Version 0.1.5 with the following features:
* Added full support for Mac OS X. * Added ability to create Circular (Round) patterns. This is only available when creating a blank pattern. * Fixed the "extremely slow scrolling" issue when using the mouse wheel. * Did some code optimizing. http://easybeadpatterns.com - Michael |

I just posted Version 0.1.6 with the following features:
* Added ability to save and open patterns. - Mac users cannot save patterns to the install directory. I caught this problem as I was posting these downloads. I'll have to figure out how to fix this. * Updated Windows setup to let user select install directory. * Removed DOS window at startup from Windows version. http://easybeadpatterns.com - Michael |

I just downloaded this and it is AWESOME.
I had this picture of a red shouldered hawk that I -really- wanted to be able to bead. (and will... but it will be awhile) The picture itself is one of a hawk caught just in the instant before landing on a post, head forwards, wings outspread to "backpeddle', feet thrust forwards to grab the post. After clearing the background and the post of the picture with photoshop and tweaking the colors/contrast I got a good pattern from Easy Bead. What I like about the program is you get instant results. Based on the results I was able to tweak the picture until I got -just what I wanted- as a pattern. Thanks a lot, ya done good!

That's cool. I have a question though (Ithik I've mentioned in a thread or 2 that I'm a computer idiot). The only computer access I have is at work. I don't like to download stuff to this computer. Could I download this program to a disc to use on the compter at work or would I have to set it up in the computer itself? Edited to add: Java is loaded already in this compter. Is that the only thing extra to download besides the programm itself?
