Question need advice on cape/vest

I am working on my first fully beaded fancy shawl set. I just finished the leggings and am really happy with how they turned out. So now it is on to the cape and vest. I was told that beading them separately is easier than doing them all in on piece, so that is how I'm doing them, but I have run into a problem. Once I get them both beaded, what is the easiest way to get the two pieces sewn together to where they won't come apart? Any advice you all have would be GREAT!

I leave the seam areas unbeaded. I sew the pieces together on a machine or by hand, as aapropriate. Then I bead over the seams.

Hope this helps.

Here's how I would do it.....
If you are beading on canvas, I would bind all the edges including the shoulder seams with bias tape. Do all your beading within those borders. When done, butt the two edges of your shoulder seams together (front piece to back piece) and machine sew together using a wide zigzag stitch. Sew back and forth over the seam a few times to make sure your join will be sturdy. This method gives a nice flat seam. Bead over this seam to hide the bias tape and stitching. That's it!
