Bead Counts

Hey can anyone give me a general idea of beadcounts for any of the following items? (all are lazy-stitch)

1) Vest
2) Aprons
3) Side Tabs
4) Belt
5) Wrist Cuffs
6) Knee Bands
7) Spreader

Also what is the piece that John Butler has hanging down his roach?

Thanks
John

Hi I just did some beading on my daughter's buckskin top; I had to figure out how much beads to buy also. I was able to get 14 1/2 inches in length, x 10 beads wide, with exactly 20 grams of beads. The beads were size 10; but by multiplying by these numbers you can can a general idea of how much to buy.

Depending on the complexity of your design, I would plan on about 3 kilos for your background and about 1/2 kilo for each color you use in your design, unless its a color that's used sparingly.

I have done:

1) Vest
2) Pipebag
3) Belt
4) Cuffs
5) Mocs
6) Headband

And used about 2.5 kilos for the back ground and 1/2 kilo of each of the two main colors. I have used somewhere around 10 hanks of accent colors...

I just finished a fully beaded vest (front/back) and I ordered a kilo and a half of the background color. I only used a kilo and a couple hanks.

But I think it's better to order more than you need. You can always use the leftovers for other accessories to whatever you are making.
