Some awesome beadwork
I know I've mentioned this gals' work to quite a few people but i finally remembered to bring my camera and take some pics of a few peices of it to show you (all with her permission of course). I used to work with her at the black elk bead store and she may know more about beading and how to and styles and... well than several of us "know it all's" combined! On here you guys ask me and bum and non moderators that know how... here in anchorage, they ask Teri LOL!! Ok so enjoy... and the beaded bottle is about as tall as a normal 24oz soda cup you'd get at mcdonalds so you have a size reference.. and it's beaded in delicas. The other is a kaliedascope done in delicas as well, with an interchangable bead that is a one of a kind lampwork bead from one of the local gals here... but i forgot which one she said it was that did it.....

ok and here's some of her beaded bead bookmarkers too.. oh and on that beaded bottle above.. the round, that's the bottom of that bottle. And just for the heck of it.. a pic of some of my dreamcatchers I sell at that shop... just a few though... the store has them all over and it's a big store... MAN I LOVE THIS STORE!

You know what's incredible yelloweyes is that she does'nt plan out her patterns. I have watched her and she just goes with the flow and makes it up as she goes! She's won best in show for beadwork I don't know how many years at state fair and now she's a judge for that area.

HAHAHA Well Bear, I don't need to worry the most important teacher I've ever had was a Haudenosaunee Woman.
( in 4th Grade) without her great method of teaching about The Haudenosaunee culture, I probably would not have shown up on the FBH or here for that matter. :) |
