Beader's block?!?
I have so many unfinished products just sitting around at home. The reason it's unfinished is that I tend to get bored easily. For instance, I'll be working on something like my niece's new crown, then I'll get bored and work on something entirely different. AFter I get bored with that, I tend to lose focus on beading for a time. After a while, I'll pick right up where I started, and the process repeats itself. Why is that? Anyone else like me?

OMG! I am the EXACT same way. I have BOXES of unfinished projects. If I'm not in the right mood, no amount of will power helps.
Right now I'm forcing myself to finish some moccasins and it is going terrible. I want to rip out half of what I've already beaded. Going to powwows or looking at other people's things they've made usually motivates me. But this is a bad time of year for me! No powwows around here for about a month and a half. I wish I could be dedicated like my sister in law. She whips things out like nobody's business. When she's not at work, she's got a project in her hands - before work, during work - jokes, at sporting events, in her car. ![]() |

I don't really get beaders' block... more like if I don't like what I am doing I have a hard time finishing it... if it's someone else's stuff I'm doing I grin and bear it and finish it..but if it's mine...I'll just tear it apart and do something else

Gawd yeah..... I have to feel good, be in the right mood and frame of mind. When the conditions are right, I can crank. My stuff is a lil more ol' fashioned. (not alot of blingage)
Rose! LMFrickenAO @ at sporting events, in her car.... :Chatter :Chatter :Chatter :Chatter I'm getting into that mode now. Hopefully it'll last a while.

We have slow days where I work, so I used to pull out my beadwork, and I'd starting beading right away. Now, it's just nothing!! I have no motivation whatsoever. I used to be able to play pow-wow or flute music, and that would be enough motivation, but......that doesn't work any more.
Oh well. Something will one day motivate me. I just need to go to a pow-wow or somethin'. Oh, and in the car?!!! Wow!!! I guess if you can find the time, bead anywhere!! |

LOL it's hard but not impossible. I edge beaded my daughter's moccasins on the way to fairbanks last year cause I did'tn get them done before we took off. But it's not something I do often.

So I'm sitting in the back seat of my fathers van on the way to pow wow, when suprise we get stuck in traffic in NYC. So What else to Do. ..Yup pulled out some beadwork. ..Almost got it done in time for the powwow we were going to!
Usually the only 'beaders block' I get is like right after I finish a big project I take a 2 week break or I run out of money to fund the habit! Hoopster

Ok, I did bead while the car was moving. I think we were on our way to a pow-wow in the Dallas area, and I was trying to finish up a crown. I didn't finish in time, but it was the first and only time I will ever bead while the car is moving. I got a huge headache afterwards from motion sickness. I don't get motion sickness!!! I guess it was just a one time deal.
Whoever can bead while the car is moving, well, more POWER to ya!! :) |

LOL good thing you were'nt in Alaska ac_miss... going through, up and down mountains like we were.. my biggest problem was frost heaves (like huge lumps or dips in the road, makes you fly out of your seat if you are'nt careful) and the sudden stopping for caribou in the road.
