well i have been raised myself out of tradish. i am learning my self but my heart has always been the same.....true! keep it there, and follow lifes beacons! being a native is a true honor.
your parents are probably in that boat to were they might be ashamed to be, or are tired of being native? maybe they have had alot of prejudice? it used to be really bad....the further you go bak in time....the worse it gets
we have some native mounds here where i live that some rich golfers are renting from the state, and charge a fotune to join the club....so you cannot go see.....but we are fighting!
you keep alive and kickin and you keep that fighting fire deep in your soul grryyllii!! just remember that after you turn 18... is your chance to shine!
you are but a precious rose bud, waiting to bloom.....you have to be patient and wait till it is time for you shine with all your radiance. like iyunkcawanbli said... dont take pride in yourself, we are all equal in creators eyes. just know who you are and where you came from.

keep an (online) journal to vent, or have friends
stay abstinate (always second too)
walk in beauty (see beauty in everything)
be postitive when all possible
learn from everything around you
listen to all who have wisdom(think sponge)
have empathy(put you in their shoes)
tolerate and ignore negitivity
think outside the box
love unconditionally
but most of all......

my mother never wanted me to go to the powwows. it was my father who kinda showed me the way....to a point>
my relitives excaped off the rez back in the day, so not only do i not know which nation i am, but cannot prove it either....
i only know one and that is cuz he changed his name to a white name, so they told him he was a white man then and made him white on paper......he knew who he was....
and that is all that matters!
