The powwows in the Northwest have been more accepting of women in men's roles than other powwow areas. Since the 70's there has been more all women's drums and women singers at your powwows than on any other powwow circuit.

I am not saying this is good or bad. If it works for you and the elders accept it, it becomes apart of your newly created traditions.

I have yet to see a woman arena director or whipwoman, but I think it will be interesting when I do.
