Uuuuuuhhhhh, powwow where?? Did you say Iraq? I'm sorry, but I think this is a crazy idea, just like the British guy who's organizing tourism in Iraq. I love to powwow, but not where I have to fear for my life. If the powwow was organized at a base, well armed and protected, I still wouldn't go. I'm sorry, but whoever's idea is this, I would say is out of their minds. The people of Iraq, is fighting a battle of religion. There are so many religions that conflict with one another there. Imagine, if we set up a powwow there(if it's really going to happen),(my personal opinion)if I were a local of Iraq and saw Indians dancing and singing, what would that portrait? They have strict religious boundaries, we cannot overstep that. Not only that, why, WHY WOULD YOU TAKE SOMETHING SO SACRED, like your regalia to a foreign country, a country where millions are dead and are still dying? We've all had enough of this war. Iraq is not Hollywood. This is as crazy as the Navajo Nation flag flown up to the moon. When that happened, the NN desecrated one of it's most sacred element. If you look at the flag, you'll see on the flag our most sacred prayer elements, the corn. The corn gives us corn pollen. Every Dine lives by the corn pollen. So, my point is, the eagle feathers and the drum is being distorted and trashed for what? Media attention? Money? Politics? What? What else are we as Native people going to do so the rest of the world can look upon us like idiots? I don't know what you all think, but my personal opinion is I strongly disagree. I think you have a death wish. Been there, hate to go back, but it's really sucks to think a bomb might strike you or a suicide maniac will blow up the next car besides you. Who's willing to take that risk? I'm sorry, but sh***t like this makes me laugh and mad at the same time. To you all who's going? good luck and make sure you have life insurance and enough money for your funeral............................
