Ok real quick here for the benefit of Fantasy Football Virgins, here is how fantasy football works.
Points are awarded based on the statistical performance of your players.
Here are how some points are awarded.
50 yards passing = 1 point
20 rushing or recieving = 1 point
touchdown thrown, recieved, rushed = 6 points
fumble lost or interception thrown = -2
For example, lets say that you have both Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison on your team. On Sundays game, Peyton passes for 350 yards, 3 TD's and 1 interception, and Marvin Harrison recieves for 120 yards and 2 TD.
Peyton would get 7 points for passing yards, 18 points for td passes and -2 points for the int for a total of 23 points for you that day.
Marvin Harrison would get 6 point for the recieving yard and 12 points for the touchdowns for a total or 18 points.
Your starting lineup will consist of 1 quarterback, 2 runningbacks, 3 recievers, 1 tight end, 1 kicker, 1 nfl team defense, and 1 defensive player. You will 6 or 7 reserves, I don't remember right now. Only your starting lineups points count towards your point total.
The league will be a head to head league, meaning you will be matched up one on one, whoever's team scores the most point wins. Individual tied games will just that, a tie.
There will be a playoff, we will have to see how many people we get in the league to determine playoff eligibility.
The draft will be automated, meaning you will pre rank the players according to who you think is the best. The computers at yahoo! conduct the draft once everyone has ranked the players.
Once the rosters have been filled, you can trade, drop, and pick up players.
That's about it in a nutshell. The website itself will have much more detail.
