Agreed
Right Spotted Eagle.
For any Plains Moccs or any Hard Soled Moccs that is the way to go. Latigo is good and thick and can even come in extra very thick slabs. It is great leather as it usually needs nothing done to it.
However, it can get rather slick after use and will eventually show wear and tear, and if you find yourself caught in alot of wet events you might feel it after awhile. To combat that I have used "Goop, Shoe Goo, and Gorilla Glue" to give me some traction and make it totally waterproof.
South Eastern Peoples use Soft Soled Moccs - but for events where the weather is not that great I have a back up pair of Soft Soled Moccs with a slab of Latigo as the Sole for extra protection.
