White Head Handkerchief?

_________

As a part of stately attire worn by the man dancers, a white head handkerchief is often included.

Is this sybolic of the old turbans worn by the man dance tribes?

Is it a fashion statement that is now traditional?

Or is it simply to keep the sweat from pouring down the face?

Any idee-ers?
