The incident doesn't make me angry tho - just kind of had me feeling sad that a human can be that shriveled up and mean inside.
And I agree that it's not "pooh over nothing" given the indepth article in CNN which notes (

After all, it wasn't an accidental shot. It was intentional.
I figure the hawk was probably just used to using golfers as a way to find food. Ball falls out of the sky - mouse, chipmunk, whatever gets startled and runs - hawk gets a quick snack. The hawks out where I work use the lawn service guys the same way.
