Native American Buckskin Beaded Boots – eBay Find of the Week
The native american plains buckskin pow wow beaded moccasins are about 9″ long x 3 1/4″ wide x 14″ high. The moccasins over lap the outside of the legs. There are 7 buckskin ties on the side and 1 tie that goes around the calf of the leg, under the buckskin flap at the top of the moccasin. The flap comes down about 2″ from the top. There is piece of buckskin that comes down from the flap at the top, which is about 2 3/8″ wide x 6 1/4″ long, with 3 red bead which are about 5/16″ diameter, 3 german silver beads about 5/16″ diameter, and 3 shells about 3/4″ long x 1/2″ wide.
There are 9 german silver 1/2 beads crimped to the buckskin between 2 rows of bead work, on each moccasin. The beads are white, light baby blue, pink, purpleish brown, and red. The beads are about 1/16″ in diameter x 1/16″ high.
There is no damage from what I can see. Therer is 1 loop of beads on the front of the moccasin, which can be seen in the photo, which needs to be attached. Other than that, moccasins are in great shape.
These moccasins came from a collection in one of the local pueblos.
This would make a great addition to any collection.
